Therapisant® is a newly coined term that seeks to describe someone who is receiving psychotherapy or psychological intervention in a more empowering and non-stigmatizing way. The term is similar to the term "analysand," which is commonly used in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, and describes the individual undergoing psychoanalysis.
The term Therapisant® emphasises the proactive and empowered role of the individual in their own therapeutic process, rather than positioning them as passive recipients of treatment, where psychotherapy is "done to them". By using language that is less stigmatizing, the term aims to promote a more positive and empowering view of therapy and reduce the stigma often associated with seeking mental health support.
In essence, a "therapisant" is someone who is actively engaged in their own therapeutic process, takes ownership of it and working towards their own personal growth and well-being, with the help of a qualified therapist.
The term seeks to empower individuals to take control of their mental health and view therapy as a valuable tool for self-discovery and growth. Under these principles, Therapisant® aspires to offer quality Trauma Informed Psychotherapy in London including EMDR, psychodynamic psychotherapy and CBT.

At Therapisant® we embed a Trauma-Informed approach to our clinical practice using a contemporary psychoanalytic lens. We seek to provide individuals with a safe and supportive environment in which they can explore and process their past and present experiences. This approach recognises the impact that trauma and resilience can have on an individual's psychic world and seeks to address these experiences in a gentle and compassionate manner.
In a trauma-informed clinical practice using a contemporary psychoanalytic lens, the therapist works collaboratively with the individual to explore their past experiences and current feelings. The therapist provides a non-judgmental space for the therapisant to express themselves and work through their experiences at their own pace.
By working through their experiences in a safe and supportive environment, individuals can develop a greater understanding of themselves and their past experiences. This can help to reduce behaviours which no longer feel helpful for the person, and improve their overall well-being and coping skills.

(HCPC Reg: PYL35386)
As a qualified Clinical Psychologist with more than 10 years of experience working with both adults and children and being a trained EMDR therapist and a psychoanalytic psychotherapist in training, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice. My approach is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic theory and is grounded in a trauma-informed perspective.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping individuals understand past experiences and navigate the complexities of life both in the NHS and privately, in the UK and abroad. I believe in the importance of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate growth and change, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive environment for the individuals seeking support.
My extensive training and experience have equipped me with the skills necessary to address a wide range of issues, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and trauma. I have worked in various NHS and private settings supporting people in the perinatal period, children under 5s and families, adolescents and adults from mild to complex emotional needs. I strive to provide compassionate and evidence-based treatment to meet the unique needs of each person.
I am registered with HCPC, ACP-UK, EMDR Association UK, AIMH-UK and various European professional bodies. I am also a training member of the British Psychotherapy Foundation and a psychoanalytic psychotherapy trainee at a doctoral level with the University of Exeter.
